Michigan Technological University (MTU) is divided into several senior colleges, The College of Engineering, The College of Sciences and Arts, The School of Business and Economics (students invest $1 million in the stock market each year in the Applied Portfolio Management Program), The School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science (ranked fourth in the nation by Academic Analytics in 2007) and The School of Technology. Like many of the leading universities, MTU has in recent years developed an enterprise program designed to foster engineering skills by encouraging and facilitating students to work in business-like environments on genuine projects while completing their education.
