FAQs

I'm worried that because I have my own style of design, subjectivity may play a part. Some people love it, some people hate it. What if my lecturer hates my work and I fail?

Lecturers in art and design have to be open to the differences between peoples styles. If you justify your work and work hard during your course, communicating your ideas with the lecturer, then they will guide you through to passing your course. Once you graduate you should have a great portfolio for potential employers to see and understand your style.

I have always liked art and have been working in a traditional course throughout college. I want to move on to graphic design, however, my computer skills are lacking at the moment so will I be at a disadvantage if I chose a multimedia course?

If you have experience in art and design then this is a great foundation and you probably have an eye for colours, texture, and what works. University is about using the skills you have already and developing them, so you will learn how to use new software packages that will compliment the knowledge and skills that you have already.
